Chuck Jones, Chairman and Co-founder
Mr. Jones is a Certified Financial Planner® and successful entrepreneur with over 35 years of experience in creating wealth for his investors and managing wealth for his clients. Early in his career Chuck founded Extracorporeal Medical Specialties, Inc., a firm specializing in artificial organs and kidney dialysis. The company had a successful IPO.
In 1980, Chuck transitioned into financial planning as a manager of a large national financial planning firm. In 1991, he formed Chuck Jones & Associates, Inc., a Financial Planning and Investment Management company. Chuck has served the financial planning, business planning and investment counseling needs of individuals, families, and small businesses. Chuck has been widely published and frequently conducts retirement and estate planning seminars. He is a graduate of Bucknell University with a degree in Commerce and Finance and received his CFP (Certified Financial Planner) from the College for Financial Planning.
Chuck is a member of the Financial Planning Association, and through 2008 the Governor’s Small Business Council, State of Oregon. Chuck is also Director, Oregon Health Sciences University Medical Group.
Dr. Bill Conerly, Vice Chairman, Co-founder and Chief Economist
Dr. Conerly is an economic consultant well-known for his ability to help business leaders make more profitable decisions through a better understanding of the economy.
Bill is author of Businomics: From the Headlines to Your Bottomline: How to Profit in Any Economic Cycle. He is co-author of Thinking Economics, a high school textbook in multimedia format used in 24 states. Two of his articles are required reading in graduate courses at MIT and Wharton. He has been quoted in Fortune Magazine, the Wall Street Journal and USA Today, and interviewed on The News Hour with Jim Lehrer, CNBC, and CNN.
Bill is chairman of the board of Cascade Policy Institute, a member of Oregon Governor Ted Kulongoski’s Council of Economic Advisors, and a Senior Fellow at the National Center for Policy Analysis.
Bill holds a Ph.D. in economics from Duke University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. He was previously Senior VP at First Interstate Bank.
JT Pendergraft, CFO
Mr. Pendergraft has over 30 years of experience with tax accounting and financial management for accounting firms and electric utilities. At LECTRIC LLC, he was responsible for all tax planning, compliance, and other tax matters of the company and its foreign subsidiaries. Prior to LECTRIC, he worked at PacifiCorp as Director of Tax Planning and Director of Corporate Tax. His responsibilities ranged from providing tax analysis to recommendations for mergers, acquisitions for both foreign and domestic transactions. While working at ENI Exploration Co., a broker and generator of oil and gas investments, JT automated the company’s tax information system and helped raise more than $100 million in drilling capital.
Bruce Carocci, Member, Board of Managers
Mr. Carocci has over 25 years of experience growing high tech and Internet software companies. Prior to abcInvesting.com, Bruce was Senior VP of Marketing and Sales at Via Training, LLC, a developer of custom e-learning programs teaching the sales personnel of Fortune 100 companies product knowledge, applied sales skills, and operations. He joined the company at startup, helped it grow to 150 employees, and positioned it for a successful acquisition by General Physics.
As VP of Marketing at FLIR Systems (FSI), Bruce played a key role in developing new products and in growing this imaging systems company from $38 million to $150 million in annual sales and establishing a dominant market position worldwide.
Bruce also held senior executive positions at WebCriteria, Inc, Quantitative Technology Corporation, and Tidland Corporation. He has Bachelor degrees in Science and Sociology along with an MBA from Portland State University.
